ReclaimTime vs Teramind

Teramind is an insider risk and data loss prevention platform: screen recording and live view on every plan, keystroke logging, email and file transfer monitoring, behavior rules and a stealth agent option. ReclaimTime sits at the other end. It records which applications and websites are in use during working hours and nothing about their contents, with no screen capture of any kind.

If you need forensic evidence, DLP or investigations, Teramind is built for that and ReclaimTime is not. If you need productivity and time by team that employees and their representatives can accept, ReclaimTime is the better fit.

Teramind facts are from Teramind's own pricing, product and help pages, checked on 15 Oct 2026 and listed at the end of this page. Plans and prices change, so check the linked pages before deciding.

Choose Teramind if

  • • You need to investigate incidents with screen recordings and keystroke logs.
  • • You need data loss prevention or insider threat detection.
  • • You must run on-premises, on Linux or in VDI sessions.
  • • You need ISO 27001 or SOC 2 evidence from the vendor.

Choose ReclaimTime if

  • • The goal is productivity and time by team, not investigation.
  • • Screen recording, keystroke logging and hidden agents are off the table for your employees or their representatives.
  • • Personal browsing should count only as anonymous group time, decided on the PC before anything is uploaded.
  • • You want signed installers that install silently through SCCM, Intune or a logon script, with no hidden agent mode.

What ReclaimTime does not do

Most of these are choices rather than gaps, but you should know them before a pilot. The security page lists exactly what the client records.

  • No screenshots, screen recording or live screen view, on any plan.
  • No real-time view: activity appears once it is 15 minutes old.
  • No API: data leaves through CSV export.
  • Windows and macOS only: no Linux, ChromeOS or mobile client.
  • No SAML single sign-on for the dashboard.
  • No SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report.

Try it on your own teams

A pilot runs on your own PCs with your own groups and working hours.
